Hi there. I’m really sorry to say the latest update is broken due to an unexpected update to an MS library that got pulled in unintentionally before the app update was released. I have a fixed submission ready but the Store is stuck finishing the previous one and won’t let me submit until it decides it is complete. I am checking it every few minutes and trying to get the fixed update out as fast as I can, but I’m at the Store’s mercy at this point.

You can follow @TweetiumWindows for updates. Once again I’m very sorry about this.

      Brandon

Sorry, I don’t understand what you’re asking for here. Are you talking about a mouse scroll wheel or trackpad scrolling? Those are handled by the OS, and the app can’t do anything about the behavior there. Works exactly the same as every other Win10 app. Some behaviors are controlled by mouse/trackpad driver settings though, and if you’re using ones that hack unsupported behaviors into Windows they may not apply equally to all apps (especially Win10 vs Win8 vs non-store apps, etc).

Play store? 4.0.7 is 4.0.485. The Win10 store took away one of the version number fields so they show up differently, unfortunately.

I've tested on my desktop which has a Logitech MX mouse and is still on the July version of Win10, and it works fine there too. Not sure what could be going wrong on your machine.

Brandon PaddockAdminBrandon Paddock (Founder, B-side Software) commented  ·

485 is the latest build. You can always check for updates in the Store by going to the Downloads and Updates page from the Store's menu, and then hitting Check For Updates.

Windows handles all plumbing of scroll events to the scroller, so the app can't do anything there.

Are you using the app in horizontal/landscape layout? Or in column/vertical mode? Are you scrolling up and down with a mousewheel?

Brandon PaddockAdminBrandon Paddock (Founder, B-side Software) commented  ·

Oh so you *are* talking about scrolling with the wheel or trackpad gestures. Windows has always supported doing that over inactive windows (not new to Win10), though it would vary by driver.

Tweetium works exactly the same as every other app in this regard. It would be very difficult for the app to *prevent* this, and obviously it doesn't (and it works great here).

Are you on the July or the November release of Windows 10? Perhaps you're hitting a bug that was fixed in the November update? Either that, or you must have some software (perhaps a Logitech thing) that is interfering.

Do you see this problem with Microsoft Edge or Groove Music? They use the exact same input/scrolling as Tweetium so whatever happens there should be the same.

Sorry, I'm not understanding how mousing over a window would cause it to scroll. Windows 10 definitely doesn't do anything like that (sounds like it would be infuriating if it did!). Are you using a special Logitech thing that does something weird?

Hi there. Adding a list of retweeters is on my todo list. Unfortunately, as far as I can tell, Twitter doesn’t expose the list of who has favorite a tweet via their API, so it may not be possible to offer that. I will investigate to see if there’s a solution, though.

Hi Matteo. Those aren't REST APIs meant for apps like this, but the Favorite one you provided could be useful...

Hi Marcel. Tweetium doesn’t update the timeline while composing a tweet, that would indeed be very annoying! If you’ve found a case where that happens, please send me some details about your configuration (PC/tablet/phone, OS version, app version, portrait/landscape, new tweet or reply, is it at the top of the view or in the middle, etc) and if possible some steps to reproduce the issue.

I just tested all the common compose and reply scenarios on my phone with the latest release and cannot reproduce any problem even when trying pretty aggressively to provoke any such issue.

Also, loading in new tweets (whether at the top or the bottom) should never close the compose box. Are you sure you aren’t accidentally switching views or anything like that?

Brandon PaddockAdminBrandon Paddock (Founder, B-side Software) commented  ·

In general, switching views (unless to/from the Messages tab) should not lose the compose box or the text it contains. Being able to switch while composing is often a useful feature, if you need to reference a tweet or a user's profile on another page. Triggering a view switch requires tapping one of the items in the nav bar, clicking a link, or swiping the view to the side. It *should* be easy to avoid this happening accidentally, unless perhaps something is wrong with the touch sensitivity of your device (for example, if you have Touch Sensitivity set to "high" in your phone's Settings, accidental presses and swipes may be more common).

If you see this problem again, can you try to take note of whether you're actually changing tabs? Or if something else is going on? If there is a bug here I definitely want to fix it, but without a way to reproduce the problem or other reports with more information, it's going to be hard to track down what exactly is happening.

there. Toast notifications are meant only to be used for real-time notifications. Tweetium Pro provides those using instant push notifications.

Without Pro, you get live tile updates via a background task already. Windows does not let background tasks run every 5 minutes, but it does run periodically (generally every 30 minutes or less), based on the allowances of the Windows background task infrastructure.

Hmm, the API link on the YOURLS website doesn't seem to work (actually, none of their links seem to work). I'm looking into bit.ly though.

Hi Kyana. Could you tell me a bit more about the charm integration you're looking for? Tweetium already lets you share tweets and links from the app, and also works as a share target for links from other apps. If there's something more in that area you think I should add, please let me know!
